Top 4 Aftermarket Audi A3 Mods

Everyone pays attention when Audi makes anything because they take an already famous design and make it better, giving us a fantastic vehicle we can customize. There are a lot of A3 modifications to choose from. It’s hard to say which A3 modifications are good and which ones aren’t.

Having been around for 6 years, it’s likely that you would feel the Audi A3 be a touch antiquated by now. However, such a notion is far from reality. The current-generation A3 was a fairly sophisticated vehicle at its inception, and careful improvements have kept it fresh and competitive against some appealing newer opponents. We take a deeper look at this model line to teach you all you need to know about purchasing, owning, and selling an Audi A3.

What makes Audi A3 the best among other cars?

Even though your Audi A3 is a high-end sports sedan intended for discerning drivers, there are still a number of low-cost solutions to boost the car’s performance. The front rotors of your A3 measure 12.3 inches and are vented, while the rear rotors measure 10.7 inches and are solid.

Calipers supply clamping force to each of the four wheels with a single piston. The total unsprung weight of the upgradable brake components at each front wheel is 33.3 pounds, and the total unsprung weight at each rear wheel is 17.2 pounds. Because of the inherent electromechanical parking brakes located on both of the rear calipers, the only basic upgrade that can be done to the rear brakes is to replace the pads with ones that have a higher performance rating.

The best way to make an Audi faster:

There are four distinct versions of the A3 platform. Before going into the top A3 mods list, it is crucial to mention that the emphasis will be on the 8V A3 generation. The following Audi A3 Mods must be installed to boost the 8V A3 FWD’s top speed:

1.     Suspension:

Audi’s performance and handling may be greatly enhanced with aftermarket suspension improvements. To acquire the perfect stance for your Audi A3, S3, or RS3, coil-overs are a more costly choice, but they let you customize the height of your suspension.

Audi A3, S3, or RS3 lowering kit has two major options: Springs or Coil over shock absorbers. It is an expensive option. A low-cost alternative to lowering your Audi is to use lowering springs. The factory shocks, however, cannot be adjusted to the lower ride height. Some small complications may arise depending on how low you lower the Audi 8V.

2.     Exhaust or downpipe system:

In every Audi 8V engine, the factory downpipe is the primary source of exhaust restriction. Because it strikes a compromise between aesthetics and utility, the factory downpipe limits the performance of your Audi. It’s easy to increase horsepower, torque, and sound output on any Audi A3, S3, or RS3 by installing a high-flow downpipe or exhaust system.

If you want to operate your vehicle on the street, it is necessary to employ high-flow catalytic converters with a turbo-back exhaust system. A cat-back exhaust system is used from the factory catalytic converter to the tailpipe. More power and a louder exhaust note are two benefits of the turbo-back exhaust system.

3.     ECU-Tune:

Aftermarket flash tunes and ECU upgrades are the most cost-effective engine mods. Tunes are ideal foundations for future A3 modifications. Tuning improves engine efficiency by adjusting fuelling, AFRs, and boosting objectives. Factory tracks aren’t aggressive; they’re comforting.

Flash, piggyback, ECU unit, and more tunes are available. Aftermarket companies provide enhanced 8V A3 ECUs, including Burger Motorsports and piggyback JB4. Piggyback is a chip that connects to the ECU and boosts power. It changes ignition timing, boost, and AFRs. JB4 is also effective for several reasons: It provides up to 8 tuning maps, doesn’t overwrite the factory tune, won’t violate the vehicle’s warranty, isn’t VIN locked, and more.

4.     Audi A3 Intake:

A high-performance filter is all that is needed to justify the expense of an aftermarket air intake device when it comes to vehicle modification. Getting enhanced air intake equipment is recommended rather than merely upgrading the existing airbox with an updated filter.

When delivering air to the engine, a stock air intake is far more restrictive because, in the end, you want to enjoy greater power. The more power the engine generates, the more air it needs to do its work properly.

Even if an aftermarket intake only adds 3-5 horsepower, the real gains are found elsewhere. Aftermarket intakes than the original intake bring more than 30 percent more air. Even without a tune, an intake may add 10-20 horsepower, and the turbo will operate more effectively due to the additional airflow. Also, it produces a nice whooshing sound in the engine compartment as it accelerates.
